Diggin’ In The Crates pt.17

For this, the 17th diggin’ in the crates post, I have gone for a reggae theme.
First up we have U Roys classic track, “Tom Drunk”. Recorded in the early 70’s, Tom Drunk was later sampled by Reflection Eternal on their underground hip hop hit, “Fortified Live”.

Next up we have a track from King Jammy, or Prince Jammy as he was known when he released the “Computerised Dub”album in 1986. The track “Wafer Scale Integration” was later sampled by Madlib on the Quasimoto track, “Goodmorning Sunshine”.

And finally we have Jah Screechy with his track “Walk and Skank”. Originally released in ’85, the track is now better known for making up the vocal section of SL2’s rave/pop hit “On A Ragga Tip”. The track can also be found on the excellent Heatwave/Soul Jazz compilation “An England Story” .
