Birmingham band Distophia, released their debut mini album, “Soda Lake” in 2003 on Necessary Records. The mini album did well and the single  “Joanne” gained air play on XFM and MTV2.
Their sound is hard to pin down, but you can hear the influence of Sonic Youth, Pavement, Dinosaur Jnr, NME described them as “Like Ash crashing into Pavement in a bloody motorway pile-up. Just how ear bleeding noise should be”.
They went on to play many gigs, including supporting label mates Hard-Fi on their first big tour.
They then released the single, “Children Know The Score” in 2005, which sadly went without much attention. This was the first single from their debut album, “Beat Dyslexia” , however due to all sorts of problems from all over, the album is still unreleased.
Sadly the band split in 2007, however there are still plans to put “Beat Dyslexia” out, so keep your eyes open. Here we have “Children Know…”, plus an unreleased remix of their track “Robert Redford” by the bass player Seb Lenton.
