The Higsons

The Higsons formed in Norwich in 1980, fronted by Charlie “Switch” Higson, now better known for his work on the Fast Show, they released their debut single, “I Don’t Want To Live With Monkeys” in 1981. They went on to form their own label and released one single before being signed to Two Tone Records, releasing 2 more singles. In 1984 they released their debut album “Curse Of The Higsons” on Upright, this turned out to be the bands only album, apart from a retrospective singles collection in 1987 entitled, “Attack of the Cannibal Zombie Businessmen” , a year after the band had split. A DVD of the band live is also available entitled, “I Don’t Want To Live With Monkeys – Live” , and features all the bands best track live, including a live version of the track we have here for you, “Put The Funk Back Into Punk”. This track also appears on the excellent “Death Disco : Songs from Under the Dancefloor 1978-1984” compilation¬†.
