A Certain Ratio

A Certain Ratio formed in Manchester in 1977, as part of the rising punk scene, the band soon caught Tony Wilson eye and were signed to the famous Factory Records.
The band fused punk and funk together to create a sound comparable to Talking Heads, ESG or even a funkier Joy Division.
The track “Do The Du”, is taken from their 1980  “The Graveyard and the Ballroom” album, originally released on cassette only, but more recently re-issued on Soul Jazz Records. It is a classic slice of the funkier side of the British post-punk movement.
