Diggin’ In The Crates pt.18

I can’t think of any particular theme for this digging in the the crates post, so lets just into it.
First we have The Turtles with their track, “I’m Chief Kamanawanalea (We’re the Royal Macadamia Nuts)”. Taken from their 1968 album, “The Turtles Present The Battle Of The Bands” , it has since been sampled by many people including De La Soul, Beastie Boys, Big Daddy Kane and more. Killer drums I’m sure you will recognise. ysi rapidshare
Next we have Johnny Jenkins with his version of Dr Johns ”Walk On guilded Splinters”. The track was taken from Jenkins’ 1970 album, “Ton-Ton Macoute!” and more recently been sampled by Beck and even Oasis.

Now we have some Funkadelic for you as I think its quite in keeping. Here’s their track, “Good Old Music”, taken from their classic 1970 self-titled LP. Again some classic drums here. ysi rapidshare
Finally we have Sweet Linda Divine with her 1970 track ”I’ll Say It Again”. I’m afraid I don’t know too much about Ms Divine other than this is a fantastic song nicely sampled by Black Sheep on their track, “The Choice Is Yours”. ysi rapidshare
