Awkward – Atomic Lock
I have been interested in hearing an album from Bristol rapper, producer, DJ , graf artist, Awkward for along time. So when I checked his myspace page and saw that he had finished his album and better yet he was giving it away for free, I was excited to hear the finished product. I was definitely not disappointed.
Atomic Lock is one of the best albums I have heard from these shores in along long time. It mixes leftfield beats, rough low-fi production and some interesting lyrical deliveries. Unlike most UK hip hop around , this actually kept my attention for the full duration of the album. Chrome from Def Tex, Spye from Undivided Attention both make guest appearances and are sounding better than every, there is also a bonus track featuring a number of U.S mc’s that I have not heard of but all sound great!
